Keeping your bird clean and healthy is important. New bird owners are often confused about the most effective methods to groom their birds. The truth is, every bird has a different personality; as a result, they show unique characteristics in regards to grooming. Some birds enjoy playing in the water, while others are not used to getting into contact with water. However, bird grooming doesn't have to be complicated; listed below are some tips that can work wonders.

Worm Treatment- Deworming your pet bird is vital to keeping them healthy. It doesn't matter whether your bird stays in a cage or not; all pets require worm treatment. Birds are prone to picking up various types of worms when playing or feeding. If you see your pet bird is eating normally but sleeping a lot, it might be a worm infestation.

Bird Supplements- Locking your bird in the cage stops it from accessing a wide array of foods. As a result, your bird may develop nutritional deficiencies in some areas. Therefore, you need to provide your feathered companion with the best supplements. This will keep them healthy and increase their immunity levels.

Bird Multivitamins- Just like us, birds also need certain minerals and vitamins to maintain good health. You can administer these vitamins and minerals using pelleted diets. Also, make sure that you contact your vet before administering any multivitamin, as some pet birds need unique nutritional supplements. Using bird multivitamins is a very easy and cost effective means to keep your bird healthy.

Bird Baths- Do you know that a simple bath can make a ton of difference in your pet bird's quality of life? They help dampen the skin, which can become really itchy and completely dry in indoor environments. Bathing is also an enriching and entertaining experience that will keep your bird in good spirits.

Bath Sprays- Bird sprays help clean your bird's feathers as well as rehydrate their nasal cavities. You can do bath sprays using lukewarm water in a clean spray water bottle. This ensures that there are no reactants that might impact the health of your pet bird.

I was traveling from Bedford to Rocky Mount when my dog got very car sick. I stopped and cleaned her up at another businesses parking lot. I thought we were good, then she got sick again, I looked over and there was Barkley's. I went in asked if they had any emergency medication that could help me relieve some.of my dogs sickness. Their extremely helpful staff showed me 3 options but the young lady took the time to read all the labels and said this is the one that will act the quickest. She rang me up and then helped me to get my drooling, scared and sick dog situated. She was wonderful! I can't say enough good things about the knowledge of staff and care they showed me as I was in midst of this stressful situation. We will be coming back to treats soon. Thank you to the Rockstar young ladies that tended the store today.
